One of my coolest photoshoots happened in my last months in UK, Wales. For my one year trip I set up a goal that I will try my best to get into BBC and especially inside some media / tv departments to do some photography. I knew that the task was really hard but I was determined to make that goal.
I sent emails, tried to call, even walked to the reception trying to get my portfolio seen by the right people. I was facing a wall not getting trough to the right people. I almost gave up for that dream but then something happened that I was not expecting.
I have always tried to be as open as possible how i do my images, I try to help others when ever that is possible. I believe truly into #sharingiscaring and this time this mentality definitely showed its powers.
One day I decided to upload my own portfolio to this PurplePort website and from there I found this guy looking a photographer to take pictures of him and his soon to be cut off beard. We met over coffee close by and started talking.
He was a freelance photographer doing really cool stuff with fitness genre, but definitely could use bit of help with light and retouching. So I decided to help him out by any means I just could. But the funny thing was that the positive Karma came back at that moment cause bit later I figured out what his actual job was. He was a video editor doing most of the BTS stuff with Doctor Who series. The guy returned the favour me helping him and send couple of text messages and soon enough I was meeting the right people at BBC and showing my work. And most of all, we became good friends. This guy with the cool beard is a guy called Rahim Mastafa, Sugarboxstudios. I owe him a big thank you!
After the initial meeting with the brand manager of Doctor Who Edward Russell things started to move to the right direction and I met more amazing people like Christine McLean-Thorne, a picture campaign manager for BBC Worldwide. Together we decided to make a photoshoot with people behind the popular Doctor Who TV series; producers, set designers, wardrobe people etc. So after some months of planning and getting things together there I was inside Tardis taking really cool portraits of these super talented and nice people.
I think the story behind these images are really strong in many ways. By helping others I got my foot between the right door, got a good friend and made my goal by taking these pictures of these super talented people behind the Doctor Who scifi series. These people in the pictures needs the spotlight. They make this world famous TV series what it is. I am so happy that I could be this small piece of that success story.

Fantastic images, great story, and an attitude and behaviour that many could learn from. Down to earth, yet with clear goals and visions.
Wish you all the best of what the future might hold for you!
Cheers,
Eivind
