Medals of War

Flower Adams

Some months ago I was selected to produce promotional images for a brand new mobile game Medals of War by Nitro games. This was once again project that just made me really excited since I definitely knew that I could make some amazing images for the company with my own style.

The concept was to bring Flower Adams, fictional game character into life. Flower Adams is “played” by one of the Nitro Games employees community manager/alt model Nymphica. The character has been developed by the company creatives and the model Nymphica to have a voice and a face to talk with the gaming audience.

The photoshoot took place in two different locations. First, we shot at the main office of Nitro Games in Kotka, where they had a special room decorated for Flower Adams to appear in their promotional videos. The other location was a War museum in Miehikkälä called Salpalinja. I was really lucky to get one of my friends Sanna Vornanen assisting at the museum tour photo shoot. And me being also interested about was history that place was definitely special. So many interesting places to shoot. And even the sun was up high blasting I could still create environmental styled portraits I wanted since there was enough power in my Elinchrom flashes to overpower the sun even I had to shoot with small apertures.

So after a full day photo shoot, laughs and excellent company it was time to head back home and then do a bit of photoshop magic to the images. I tried to bring a cinematic feel to the images with color grading and other retouching techniques I use typically in my images. Wanted the images also look slightly cartoonish, and that I can do with my dodge and burn techniques. I definitely wish I could more this kind of projects for movie or game companies, and we will never know what will happen.

Here is a brief BTS video of the photoshoot and the images we produced to promote the launch of the game. Bringing this  “cartoon” character into life was definitely one of the coolest projects this summer. Thank you, Ida (Nymphica) and Nitro Games for choosing me to be part of this project.

Be sure test also the game! I’m sure you will like it!
